The Turbostar 432 was the next in the series following the Superstar 28K and the Superstar 36K.
Simply 24K ROM + 4K RAM = 28K Then 32K ROM + 4K RAM = 36k Finally 4MHz processor and 32K program = 432.
The Turbostar runs at twice the speed, has an enhanced program and a larger opening book. It was released in 1984 in direct competition with the Novag Super Constellation, one of the classic chess computers of the 1980s. The Super Conny had the edge in design and features, but the two machines were well matched in chess strength. Unfortunately for the Turbostar the Kasparov Selected Openings module did not arrive until early 1985, by which time the Super Conny had a head start.
